Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire Cricket, is an award-winning world-class stadium and venue. It is recognised as one of the UK’s most prestigious venues for sport, business, leisure and entertainment with a capacity of up to 50,000 people for concerts; 26,000 for international cricket matches; meetings and events spaces for up to 2,000 delegates; a four-star hotel with 250 rooms; and an on-site Caffè Nero. It’s a unique place to build a career where no two days are ever the same!

    The Opportunity

Emirates Old Trafford, the home of Lancashire Cricket Club, is seeking a Security Supervisor to join our Operations Team. This role will support the Safety Management Team in leading and working alongside our security personnel to deliver effective access control, monitoring and loss prevention services. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of all staff, contractors, customers and visitors across the venue.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Lead, supervise and support the team of Security Guards, ensuring their welfare, safety and effective performance at all times.
    • Act as the primary point of contact between the Security team and the Safety Management Team, providing regular updates and clear communication on operational matters.
    • Plan and manage shift patterns, ensuring appropriate cover for sickness, holidays and event requirements across match days and non-match days.
    • Oversee access control across the site, preventing unauthorised entry to restricted areas and coordinating security equipment as required.
    • Monitor CCTV and conduct regular patrols and inspections of the stadium and partner premises to maintain a safe and secure environment.
    • Ensure all incidents, accidents, breaches and suspicious activity are correctly recorded and reported in line with company procedures and Health & Safety policy.
    • Identify potential risks, hazards and maintenance issues, escalating appropriately to the relevant teams to protect people and property.
    • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, disturbances and medical incidents, liaising with the Safety Team, Police and emergency services where necessary.
    • Promote high standards of professionalism and accountability within the team through regular briefings, shift handovers and one-to-one meetings.
    • Complete required administrative duties and reports, maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider Safety and Operations teams as directed.

    What You’ll Bring

    • Proven experience managing or supervising a security team within a large, high-footfall environment such as a sports stadium, entertainment venue or shopping centre.
    • A valid, in-date SIA Door Supervisor licence and Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations.
    • Experience operating CCTV systems, including reviewing and downloading footage to support investigations.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to challenge appropriately and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
    • A calm, professional approach to handling incidents and difficult situations.
    • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports.
    • Good IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage tasks effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
    • Professional presentation and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a front-facing role.
    • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Spectator Safety would be advantageous.
