    About Us

    The Lancashire Cricket Foundation works across the North West to develop and deliver a range of projects, programmes and events designed to engage, excite, inspire and improve individuals and communities through cricket.

    Established as the official charity of Lancashire Cricket the Lancashire Cricket Foundation provides governance for the recreational game and high-quality experiences that make a positive difference to the lives of the individuals and communities we engage in order to grow the appeal of the game at all levels.

    The Opportunity

    Leading the delivery and ongoing development of The Lord’s Taverners Wicketz programme across Greater Manchester. The role focuses on coaching delivery, personal development workshops, festivals and competitions that nurture sustained engagement for young people aged 8–19 from targeted communities.

    The Wicketz Activator will monitor and evaluate the programme to ensure it remains relevant to the target audience and meets the requirements of funding partners.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Deliver and grow inclusive, community-led Wicketz hubs that increase participation and promote positive life choices.

    • Co-design and deliver youth-led programmes that meet local needs.
    • Engage, support and develop young people’s confidence, leadership and life skills through cricket.
    • Build strong partnerships with schools, community groups and local stakeholders.
    • Recruit, support and upskill volunteers and participants to create a lasting legacy.
    • Monitor impact, maintain accurate records and produce reports for stakeholders and funders
    • Support wider Foundation programmes, events and fundraising activity.
    • Promote programmes across social media and communication channels while upholding high professional and safeguarding standards.

    What You’ll Bring

    • Knowledge of sport and community development, with a clear understanding of how sport can create positive social impact.
    • The ability to engage and motivate young people and adults from diverse backgrounds.
    • Experience delivering safe, structured and enjoyable sport or cricket sessions in schools, clubs or community settings
    • An understanding of cricket development pathways and coaching frameworks (ECB Core Coach Level 2 or willingness to work towards).
    • Strong communication, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet targets.
    • Experience supporting young people to develop confidence, life skills and positive behaviours through sport.
    • The ability to build strong relationships with schools, community partners and volunteers (with volunteer management experience desirable).
    • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and safe working practices, including risk awareness and the ability to carry out risk assessments.
