We are excited to be looking for a Head of Stadium Events to join the team at Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire Cricket. You'll be responsible for major and minor event planning and delivery throughout the cricket season. They will lead the Stadium Event Management team in bringing to life an exciting portfolio of international and domestic events working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Events will include International Cricket, T20 fixtures, Hundred Ball fixtures, County Championship, One Day Cricket, Concerts, out ground cricket and any other outdoor events. Projects will form an important part of the role and will involve the management of contractors / suppliers and liaison with other departments within the club.

The venue has played host to some of the world’s biggest sporting events, including six ICC Cricket World Cup fixtures in 2019, Ashes Test Matches and world class concerts. In previous years we have welcomed performances from Harry Styles, Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and had numerous cricket matches, including England one day internationals and a test match. Key Responsibilities
• Lead the planning and execution of all cricket and stadium events
• Manage and develop the Stadium Event Management team to ensure outstanding delivery and event success
• Work closely with the relevant departments such as Safety, Facilities, Ticketing, Catering and Guest Services to deliver exceptional events and guest experiences
• With the Safety Team ensure the relevant documents are compiled in relation to each event
• Design and produce working site plans for events
• Chair planning meetings and take minutes, where allocated
• Create match briefs for allocated matches and deliver briefings where required
• Ensure P & L’s are produced for each event and within the agreed budgets
• Oversee the event budget and make key operational and financial decisions in line with agreed budget tolerances and delegated authority
• Oversee and manage the set up and derig at allocated events, managing additional temporary infrastructure where required
• Support negotiations and working relationships with any third-party event organisers ensuring clear understanding of responsibilities of each party
• Undertake the necessary research, evaluation and post event reporting to measure success of the event against the agreed objectives
• Incorporate sustainable practices into event planning and execution, overseeing the delivery of a responsible event whilst considering the specific environmental Sustainable Development Goals
• Liaise as required with external agencies including Safety Advisory Group, Local Authority, SGSA and ECB
• Support and deliver in conjunction with the Head of Facilities small building (Capex) projects
• Procurement and management of contractors
• Liaison with and support Lancashire Cricket commercial projects and operations
• Working alongside the Head of Safety & Resilience to ensure all systems and procedures are fully compliant with current health & safety law
• When required liaison with the Safety Officer and the Head of Safety & Resilience to help manage physical site security and liaise with guest services
Essential Requirements
• Qualified to degree level in a relevant events subject (desirable) or relevant industry experience
• IOSH as a minimum with the willingness to achieve NEBOSH, NVQ Level 2 & NVQ Level 4. (Company will pay for training)
• Experience of working in a stadium or large event environment
• Experience of working in partnership with external agencies such as Safety Advisory Group, Police, Local Authority, SGSA, Sporting bodies and event promoters
• Proven experience in managing successful operational events
• Must be a creative problem solver who can identify solutions and address guest concerns efficiently and professionally while remaining calm under pressure
• Able to provide confident and consistent leadership to all within line management responsibility
• Safety management experience, credible knowledge of venue safety and security functions
• Working knowledge of the green and purple guides (desirable)
• Strong teamwork, leadership, organisational and planning skills
• Strong budget and cost management experience
• Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the confidence and ability to present to groups from all disciplines and levels
