    About Us:

    The Lancashire Cricket Foundation (LCF) is the charitable arm of Lancashire Cricket, delivering cricket programmes and initiatives across the county.
    We work in communities of all ages, genders, abilities, and backgrounds – with a particular focus on:

    We are the designated governing body for cricket in Lancashire, with responsibility for supporting clubs, leagues, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Our work is underpinned by the belief that cricket can change lives.

    The day-to-day management of the charity is led by our Managing Director and senior executive team, who work closely with the Board of Trustees.

    Role Overview:

    The ACE Programme was launched by Surrey County Cricket Club in January 2020 in response to the decline of the black British professional players by 75%, and less than 1% of the recreational game. The ACE Programme was designed to engage young people of African and Caribbean Heritage, and a talent search was launched.

    In Black History Month, October 2020, following significant investment from Sport England, The ACE Programme Charity launched as an independent charity. Four years after delivery, the charity is pleased to be an official partner of Sport England and England & Wales Cricket Board, providing opportunities for African and Caribbean heritage children to access cricket across six cities – London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Nottingham and Sheffield. The charity aims to 'Support Underrepresented Talent from the Grassroots to the Elite'

    The development officer will provide direct development and coaching support to the community, school and club based cricketing opportunities, through both coaching and competition.

    This role seeks an energetic and enthusiastic individual who has a passion for supporting and developing diverse communities and working with multiple partners and organisations. The role combines coaching and development work and will be responsible for engaging from a diverse community of all ages across Manchester into becoming active members of the cricketing community. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage the administration and delivery of all ACE cricket programmes in Manchester.

    • Coach across programmes, including academies, community hubs, and school initiatives.

    • Support and develop cricket participation, including leagues, festivals, and engagement events.

    • Collaborate with national and county stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of ACE activities and events.

    • Provide support and guidance to local clubs to boost engagement and sustainability in diverse communities.

    • Handle administration tasks, including data management, reporting, and diary coordination.

    • Uphold professional standards, ensuring diversity, inclusion, data protection, and health & safety compliance.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • ECB UKCC Level 2 or equivalent cricket coaching qualificatio
    • Understand ECB development pathway and coaching guidelines relevant to the coaching and development role
    • Experience in delivering safe, structured and enjoyable cricket coaching in schools, clubs and the local community
    • Ability to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle to improve behaviour, concentration and academic success 
    • Experience of budget management / income generation in particular for grant funding to support the development programme
    • Understanding of the needs of target groups including women & girls, minority ethnic communities, disabled people and people from disadvantaged background and areas of deprivation
    • Attendance on First Aid and Safeguarding & Protecting Children courses
    • Experience of undertaking risk assessments
